20                Invitation to Bid

 

20.1   The Owner, Englewood McLellan Reservoir Foundation, 1000 Englewood Parkway, Englewood, Colorado 80110, hereby invites and solicits sealed Bids for the extension of Plaza Circle, from the temporary cul-de-sac serving the Solona at Lucent Station apartments to Plaza Drive at approximately the existing west access of Children’s Hospital, including grading, streets, concrete flatwork, storm sewer and related facilities (the “Project”), all within Douglas County, Colorado, to be received by the Owner at the City of Englewood Utilities Department, 1000 Englewood Parkway, Englewood, Colorado 80110 until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018. The Project is generally located south of C-470, north of Plaza Drive and west of Lucent Boulevard. Bids will not be publicly opened and read, however, a bid tabulation will be emailed to all participating bidders within ten (10) working days after the date of the Notice of Award for this Project. The term “Bid” as herein used shall mean all of the following documents: Bid Form, which is inclusive of the Bid Schedule; Declaration of Non-Collusion affidavit (Attachment 1); and Bid Bond (Attachment 2). No Bid will be considered complete unless all such documents are submitted by the time and date specified in this Paragraph 020.1.

 

20.2   A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 4, 2018, at the offices of the Owner, 1000 Englewood Parkway, Utilities Department, Englewood, Colorado, followed by a site visit. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is strongly recommended for all bidders but is not mandatory.

 

20.3   The Project Manual and plans will be available digitally (pdf format) free of charge commencing November 26, 2018 by email or telephone request of Barb Sauers, Ph: 303-623-6300, bsauers@hkseng.com or in paper format for a refundable deposit of Fifty Dollars ($ 50.00) at the office of the Engineer, Harris Kocher Smith, 1120 Lincoln Street, Denver, Colorado 80203. Deposits will be refunded provided that all Manuals and Plans are returned complete and in good condition. AutoCAD files will not be provided to Bidders.

 

20.4  The Project work includes the following approximate quantities:

 

  • 4,600 cubic yards of Unclassified Excavation (C.I.P.);
  • 2,488 lineal feet of Vertical Curb and Gutter;
  • 2,115 tons of Hot Mixed Asphalt (GR S) and (GR SX);
  • 1,780 square yards of Concrete Sidewalk (6-inch);
  • Surveying.

 

20.5   The Notice to Proceed for the Project is currently anticipated by the Owner to occur on or around January 21, 2019 and the date of substantial completion by the Contractor shall be on or before August 1, 2019.
