Project Description

 

The project will construct an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible path connecting the University of Colorado main campus to the North of Boulder Creek Neighborhood.   The trail will start at the North East corner of the Recreation Center on the north side of Stadium Drive and connect to the Multi Use trail along Boulder Creek near 19th and Grandview Ave.  The work includes but is not limited to:

 

  • 760’ long x 10’ wide twenty span pedestrian bridge
  • Site retaining walls
  • Earthwork
  • Concrete bikeway
  • Site lighting
  • Landscaping and irrigation
  • Traffic control

 

The project is partially funded with a Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) Transportation Improvement Project (TIP) grant.  The requirements associated with the Federal Funding are detailed in the project bid documents.

 

The State of Colorado strongly encourages small and minority businesses and women’s business enterprises to participate in this invitation to bid.  The DBE goals for this project are 4.5 percent.


Minimum Requirements

 

Notice is hereby given to all interested parties that all firms will be required to meet all minimum requirements to be considered for this project. To be considered as qualified, interested firms shall have, as a minimum:

1. Prequalification from the Colorado Department of Transportation for work codes 01. General Construction, 09. Structures and 10. Small Bridge for projects $5,000,000 or above.

 

2. Provided type of contracting services within the last five (5) years for at least three (3) projects each in excess of $5,000,000.00 (hard costs); and

 

3. Demonstrated specific type of contracting services and experience in projects of similar scope and complexity; and

 

4. Demonstrated bonding capability up to $6,000,000.00 for an individual project coincidentally with current and anticipated workloads; provide letter from surety that affirms this capacity.
