SAN DIEGO COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY

 

NOTICE INVITING BIDS

 

Notice is hereby given that the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (“Authority”) is requesting sealed bids (“Bid”) for: Terminal 2 West Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Room Cooling Upgrade, Project #: 104267, Drawing #: 4267.        

 

The magnitude of this work is in the range of $350,000.00. The bidder shall possess a valid California State Contractors License, classification C38, at the time the Bid is submitted.

 

This project includes the furnishing of labor, materials, equipment, and incidental items meeting the technical requirements of the Contract Documents for the project Terminal 2 West DAS Room Cooling Upgrade. The work consists of, but not limited to the following: 

 

1.  Install (2) new CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units to address the cooling deficiencies in the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Cellular Equipment Room located in Terminal 2 West.

2.  Integrate the new CRAC units with existing fire safety and building management system.

3.  Phase the Work in such a way as to support airport and airline uninterrupted   operations.

 

Minimum Experience Required:

 

 The bidder shall have minimum 5 years experience performing work similar in scope to that included in this Request for Bids in an airport of similar size or larger. The Bidder shall Identify prior experience and exposure on the following major elements directly required for the Work specified under this Request for Bids:

1.    Mechanical contractor acting as prime contractor; Similar projects

      completed within the last 5 years.

 

2.    The Bidder is required to list work of similar character to that included in the Request for Bids and that such work has been successfully performed, and provide references for verification purposes.

 

Pre-bid Conference (Attendance is not mandatory). This conference is an opportunity for Bidders to ask questions regarding the Bid documents and the process. The conference will be held in the Boardroom Conference Room at 2:00 pm on October 18, 2019. The conference room is located in the Commuter Terminal on the 3rd floor at 3225 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, California.

 

Deadline to Submit Written Questions. Questions must be submitted via e-mail to Missy McGrath at mmcgrath@san.org by 2:00 pm on October 24, 2019. Questions received after that time and date will not be considered.

 

Bid Due Date and Time. Sealed Bids must be received by 2:00 pm on November 8, 2019 at the Authority’s reception desk located in the Commuter Terminal on the 3rd floor at 3225 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, California. Sealed Bids will be opened in public immediately thereafter in the Boardroom Conference Room (same address). Late Bids will be rejected.

In accordance with the provisions of the California State Labor Code, Authority has obtained the general prevailing rate of wages (which rate includes employer payments for health and welfare, vacation, pension and similar purposes) applicable to the work to be done, for straight time, overtime, Saturday, Sunday and holiday work.  All labor employed on this project shall be paid no less than such minimum rates of wages.

 

It is the practice of the Airport Authority that certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (“DBEs”) shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of Airport Authority contracts. Certified DBEs with qualifying experience are encouraged to respond to the request for proposals/bids/quotes, etc.
