NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS

 

October 2, 2020

Project: San Pablo/Parker Street Signal Improvement Project, Berkeley, Ca

Owners Representative: Nova Partners, Inc.

 


Electronic BIDS only will be received by Nova Partners Inc. at the following Address: David@Novapartners.com on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, until 5:00 P.M. for the San Pablo/Parker Street Signal Improvement Project.” at which time they will be publicly opened and read for performing work as follows:

 

Furnishing all labor, equipment and materials for the installation of new Traffic Signal Improvements at the intersection of San Pablo and Parker Streets in Berkeley, Ca. Contractor to include all costs associated with all  site improvements, Traffic Signalization  and incidental  sitework such as Landscaping,  Irrigation, Site Concrete, Paving, and underground utilities scopes of work according to the plans and specifications as prepared Fehrs and Peers and according to the contract documents. The entire project is to be completed within One Hundred and Seventy-Five (175) calendar days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Time for commencement and completion of the work is important, and is to be of the essence of the Contract.

Bidding procedures are prescribed in the Project Manual.  Bids shall be executed upon the forms bound and made a part of said Manual. Bid guarantee in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid dollar amount conforming to the prescribed bidding procedures is required to be submitted with each bid, as a guaranty to be forfeited should the bidder, if awarded the contract, fail to enter into the same, or fails to furnish in a timely manner the bonds and/or proof of insurance.

Pursuant to the provisions of California Labor Code Section 6707, each bid submitted in response to this invitation to bid shall contain in their bid, adequate sheeting, shoring and bracing, or equivalent method, for the protection of life and limb in trenches and open excavation, which shall conform to applicable safety orders.  By submitting this bid, the bidder warrants that its action does not convert tort liability to the Owner, the Design Consultant, the Construction Manager, and their employees, agents and sub consultants.

 

All bidders shall be licensed under the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California to do the type of work contemplated in the project.  In accordance with provisions of California Public Contract Code Section 3300. Nova  has determined that the Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or B license at the time that the bid is submitted.  Failure to possess the specified license shall render the bid as non-responsible.

 

Pursuant to section 1770, et. Seq., of the California Labor Code, The successful bidder shall pay not less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. Failure to do so may result in imposition of statutory penalties enumerated in Labor Code Section 1775.

 

Bid Forms received after the designated bid time will not be accepted.

 

No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of Ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

 

Nova Partners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any irregularities in the bids.

This is a Prevailing wage project funded with a Federal/State Grant.
