NOTICE TO BIDDERS

 

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Clerk of the Borough of Glen Gardner will receive bids at 11:00 a.m. (prevailing time) on Thursday May 27, 2021 at the Municipal Building, 83 Main St, Glen Gardner, NJ 08826 for:

 

ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT FOR SANATORIUM ROAD SECTIONS 1 & 2

The work will be funded by the Borough of Glen Gardner. The major construction items include:

Base Bid Sanatorium Road Sect. 1&2 ; 11,670 square yards of HMA milling 3” or less; 1,400 tons HMA 9.5M-64 surface course 2” thick; 500 square yards of HMA 19M-64 base repair 5” thick, 200 s.y. reinforced concrete sidewalk 4” thick, 500 l.f. concrete curb; 40 unit’s type B inlet repairs, and other lawn restoration and incidental items.

Alternate Bid:

 

The Borough shall reserve the right to award the Base Bid, Base Bid Plus Alternate Bid or to reject all bids in accordance with the Local Public Contracts Law.

 

Specifications and forms of bids for the proposed work, prepared by Robert Martucci, P.E., Borough Engineer, of the firm of Martucci Engineering, LLC, have been filed in the office of said Engineer at 49 E. Main St., Flemington, New Jersey 08822 (908) 297-2422, and may be inspected by prospective bidders during business hours. The Borough of Glen Gardner Engineer upon proper one-day advance notice will furnish bidders with a copy of the drawings and Specifications. Payment of cost of preparation in the amount of $40.00 (plus postage if mailed), non-refundable, is required at the time of purchase.

 

Bids must be made on standard proposal forms in the manner designated therein, and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes, bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the Borough Clerk’s Office, P.O. Box 307 83 Main Street, Glen Gardner, NJ 08826 and must be accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit and a Bid Bond or Certified Check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, providing said check or bid bond need not be more than $20,000.00 nor shall not be less than $500.00, and be delivered at the place on or before the hour named above.

 

Bidders are required to conform to all provisions of the Local Public Contracts Law, the Prevailing Wage Act and the requirements of P.L. 1975, c.127. The Borough of Glen Gardner Mayor and Council reserve the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in any bid inuring to the benefit of the Borough of Glen Gardner.
