REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR DESIGN-BUILD SERVICES
NEW MODULAR GYMNASIUM BUILDING
PIEDMONT MIDDLE SCHOOL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Pursuant to Education Code section 17250.10 et seq., the Berryessa Union School District seeks a design-build entity to produce final designs for the construction of a New Gymnasium Modular Building at Piedmont Middle School, 955 Piedmont Road, San Jose, California 95132.
The Berryessa Union School District will receive Qualification Statements from firms that provide Design Build Services for the construction of a New Gymnasium Modular Building at Piedmont Middle Schools under sealed cover BEFORE 2:00 P.M. (Pacific Daylight time), on June 7, 2022. The complete Request for Qualifications (RFQ) package is located on the District's website at www.berryessa.k12.ca.us click on the quick link Request for Proposals where a proposal package and instructions can be found and are ready to download.
MANDATORY PREQUALIFICATION CONFERENCE AND SITE WALK FOR THIS PROJECT.The Pre-Bid Conference and Job Walk will begin at 3:00 pm on May 19, 2022, Meet outside in the parking lot at Piedmont Middle School, 955 Piedmont Road, San Jose, CA 95132. Only proposers who participate in the Conference in its entirety will be allowed to submit prequalification documents for this project. COVID 19 Guidelines will be enforced at this meeting – face coverings and social distancing may be required.
BASIC SCOPE AND NEEDS OF THE PROJECT: The Project consists of a modular gymnasium building of +/- 7600 SF. The selected design-build entity will produce final designs for and then construct a New Gymnasium Modular Building at Piedmont Middle School, 955 Piedmont Road, San Jose, California 95132 (the “Project”). The Design-Build entity will be responsible for the final design, transmission of their final design to the Division of the State Architect (“DSA”), and for obtaining final DSA approval. No construction work shall be performed until the design-build entity receives written approval of the plans, as to the safety of design and construction, from the DSA and permission from the District to proceed.
LICENSING REQUIREMENT: Current Class “B” California General Building Contractor license and current California Architect license.
ENGINEERING ESTIMATE: $4,900,000.00 to $5,300,000.00

The School District reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the proposals or in the proposal process.
No proposers may withdraw their proposal for a period of 90 days after the date set for the opening of proposals or after approval by the Governing Board of the Berryessa Union School District
