NOTICE CALLING FOR BIDS FOR “ALL-INCLUSIVE LOCKER ROOM" Conversion of locker rooms, restrooms, and shower facilities on the ground floor.


PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the GLENDALE YMCA, 130 N. Louise Street, Glendale, CA. invites sealed bids for the Partial demolition of the existing ground floor locker rooms, restrooms, and shower facilities and converting them into All-Inclusive lockers, toilet rooms, showers, an expanded music room space and miscellaneous associated work to complete the job located within the City of Glendale.

 

A Mandatory Site Walk will be held at the YMCA site located at 130 N. Louise Street, Glendale, CA 91206 at 10:00 am on November 29, 2022.  Bidders shall RSVP for the Mandatory Site Walk to RED Architectural Group, Attention Harris Shapiro at (818) 957-7765 or Hshapiro@red-arch.com. Sealed bids will be received at the office of RED Architectural Group at 3436 N. Verdugo Road, Suite 200, Glendale, CA 91208. Bids are due on December 15, 2022, no later than 3:00 pm. Late proposals will not be considered. Public opening of bids will take place promptly at 3:05 pm.

 

All project plans and specifications can be ordered and picked up directly through ARC Document Solutions, 681 S. Raymond Avenue, Pasadena, CA, 91105; (626) 583-1122.  All printing fees are to be paid directly to ARC.  No print orders through the Architect will be accepted.

 

The work shall be done in accordance with the instructions to bidders that comprise the bid package. Bids must be prepared on the approved bid proposal forms and placed in a sealed envelope plainly marked on the outside in conformance with the instructions to bidders.

 

The project is funded with Owner, Community Development Block Grant through US Department Housing and Urban Development and is therefore a "public work" subject to the provisions of California Labor Code Section 1720 and Federal Labor Standards Provisions. Contractor awarded this contract, and all Subcontractors of any tier shall not pay less than the minimum prevailing rate of per diem wages for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to perform the work. The California Director of Industrial Relations (DIR), pursuant to the California Labor Code, and the U.S. Secretary of Labor, pursuant to the Davis‐Bacon Act, have determined the general prevailing rates of wages for which the work is to be performed.  Pursuant to Senate Bill 854 (Stat. 2014, chapter 28), no contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and no contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (unless registered with DIR).  The Work to be performed under this federally funded Contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, in addition to DBE/WBE Utilization and Equal Employment Opportunity Program requirements. Bidders shall be licensed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 111 of the Business and Professions code of the State of California. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to award all or any individual part/item of the Bid, and to waive any informalities or technical defects, whichever may be in the best interest of the Owner.
