NOTICE OF ESTABLISHMENT OF QUALIFIED CONTRACTORS LIST FOR INFORMAL BIDDING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Bellflower (City) is currently establishing a List of Qualified Contractors for the 2024 Calendar Year to be notified of public projects advertised under the informal bidding rules (PCC §22032 – California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act).

Contractors on the list will be mailed or emailed notices inviting bids for public projects estimated to cost more than $60,000 and up to $200,000 and involving work under their license class.  Interested contractors must be currently registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and will be solely responsible for complying with Labor Code section 1725.5, as well as any requirements implemented by the DIR. Contractors must also furnish certified payroll records as required pursuant to Labor Code section 1776.

Bid security will be required for all bids on public projects estimated to cost more than $60,000 and for certain public projects estimated to cost less than or equal to $60,000 when determined by the City.  Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check or bidder’s bond payable to the order of the City of Bellflower or cash including electronic payment (wire or ACH) for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid price submitted, and the check, bond, or cash deposit of the successful bidder will be forfeited to the City if such bidder fails to enter into the contract to perform the work within ten (10) days after written notice of award.
