HVAC Maintenance, Repairs, and Replacement

NOTICE is hereby given that the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will receive Bids until October 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM, for the above project electronically at

For purposes of this Contract, Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, supervision, and incidentals necessary to perform Preventative Maintenance, Unscheduled Repairs, Emergency Repairs, Replacements, or other VTA specified actions on all Heaters, Ventilators, Air Conditioning units, HVAC units, and gas converters, ice machines, energy management systems etc., including all, but not limited to, the list of equipment supplied.

The Work will be conducted within an operating rail yard and adjacent to and within existing shop facilities. This Work will be subject to restrictions to ensure safety and the continuing operations of the yard and shop and the light rail system.

The Engineer’s Estimate for this Work ranges from $8,200,000.00 to $10,600,000.00.

Required Licenses:

The Bidder to whom the contract will be awarded (“Contractor”) must, at the time of Bid Opening possess surrent licenses in the following classifications issued by the California Department of
Consumer Affairs, Contractors State License Board:

License:

- Class A (General Engineering)

or

- Class B (General Building) AND the following are required for Class B only:

- C10(Electrical)

- C20 (Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning

- C 36 (Plumbing)

A Bidder may fulfill these license requirements either by itself or in conjunction with licenses held by subcontactors of any tier.
A combination of prime contractor and subcontractor licenses is acceptable only when (a) each such subcontractor’s scope of work is identified in Bid Form 3 (regardless of the subcontractor’s tier of subcontract amount); and (b) each such subcontractor possesses the identified license at the time stated above; and (c) the prime contractor will perform at least 30 percent of the original total bid price.
