DC Water and Sewer Authority Filtration and Disinfection Upgrades CMAR

Project Description:

Clark Water, LLC is soliciting proposals from MBE/WBE and disadvantaged subcontractors and suppliers for assistance in preconstruction for the DC Water Filtration CMAR Project which will include design and constructability review, and input.

The construction scope of work for this project generally includes:

Filter Underdrain and Backwash System (FUBS) Upgrades

Concrete and expansion joint repairs and replacement of walkway sections. Repair wash water trough anchors. Cleaning of the filtered water conduits to remove any filter media before construction and rehabilitation. Cleaning of the filtered water conduits and disinfection tanks after construction is completed. Demolition of all existing underdrains, grout, media, piping, metals and other components within the filter boxes. Upgrade the filter underdrain system, including the
nozzle underdrain system, filter media, and air scour system., Upgrade wash water system, including pumps, control valves, isolation valves, air relief valves, and pressure relief system. Upgrade the air scour distribution system, including blowers, blower discharge valves, and the air isolation valves. Upgrade the control strategy to accommodate the new mechanical equipment and revised backwash sequence. Replace instrumentation within the filter cells and appurtenant to the new equipment

including washwater pumps and air scour blowers. Electrical system upgrades needed for the new mechanical equipment and to update the existing power distribution system. Replace the existing ventilation in the gallery and blower building.

Miscellaneous Upgrades to Filtration and Disinfection Facility

Filter influent valves, filter drain valves, and filter flowrate controllers. Wash water systems components, spent wash water pumps, motors, and variable speed drives. Instrumentation and Control upgrades. Process Controls System (PCS) upgrade. Architectural upgrades including windows, doors, roofs, and stairways. Structural upgrades including concrete resurfacing of the filter influent channels, filtered water conduits, spent washwater conduits and disinfection tanks. Other mechanical upgrades including HVAC, plumbing, sump pumps, and gallery crane.
